Description of a Body Session
Interview
Before an actual body session starts, you talk with a therapist. Here you discuss how you feel and if there are any particular problems or issues you think are important to talk about. The therapist may also use this opportunity to ask you a few relevant questions. In this way you will get the most out of your body session.
Clothing
After the interview is over, the physical part of the Body Session begins. This is when you lay on your back covered with a blanket. In order to get the most from your Body Session it’s best if you lay in your underclothes. If you want you can keep your undershirt or bra on.
Mental and physical elements
During the treatment you may be surprised to discover that the therapist will talk about the psychological as well as the physical sides of life as equally important. This is because psychological pain can cause physical pain and vice versa.
Massage
The therapist will use a light, pulsating massage and release your joints. Breathing therapy is also part of the treatment. The therapist will help you to breathe deeply and correctly.
Knowledge and awareness of the importance of breathing for our physical as well as psychological well-being is one of the many great techniques of the Body Self Development System. Breathing is also used in treatment to ease the release of joints and muscles. In addition, the therapist will recommend sound and reactions from you during the massage and breathing treatment as it provides an even better effect. You will be treated on both sides of your body.
Duration
Treatment lasts around 45 minutes but the amount of time can vary depending on the therapist’s estimation.
Closing
A body session ends with a light massage/stroking and a brief conversation depending on your needs. The treatment enables your inner room to grow so you have greater physical and emotional energy to work with yourself.
Results
Normally after a treatment, you will have a fantastic feeling of both physical and emotional well-being, and there is seldom any soreness.
Side effects such as excessive soreness or bruising are rare.
Any tenderness you may feel can be compared to the feeling you have after healthy exercise.
Though rare, bruising can happen if the connective tissue is in poor condition. It quickly disappears after a short time and is not permanent.
You may also experience emotional side-effects after treatment. These can be treated over the telephone or, if necessary, with a quick follow-up treatment.
